About Us

Through our model of growing our own produce, rescuing food products before they go to waste, cooking nutritious meals with clean energy and ensuring these meals feed those who need it most we know seeing a Kenya that experiences zero hunger is possible.

Our History

Joy Divine has been operating since 1999 with a heart to serve the vulnerable in our community. Pastor Mary Njoki started Joy Divine when she was given responsibility for a group of 20 vulnerable children by the then Government.

What started as a home and safe refuge for Street-connected children and Internally Displaced People has grown over the last 20 years to where we are now, providing school placements and fees for 40 children from the Streets or slums of Mathare or surrounds, supplying school resources to close to 60 children from vulnerable families, cooking hot meals for 200 Street-connected children every week, providing 5 tonnes of fresh vegetables and hot porridge to vulnerable families including street-connected families, single mothers, the elderly, the disabled, the sick along with informal-school in the slums, sometimes twice week. Joy Divine also hosts Medical Camps and outreaches to struggling communities all over the country, multiple times a year.

Our Why

Fredrick and Bethany believe it is possible to see a Kenya where every stomach is full and no one has to worry where their next meal is coming from. We want to empower those who are doing it tough not only through a hot meal but also through training opportunities so they can pull themselves up and into a brighter future than they ever dreamt possible.

Our Project Manager's
